Cooler and lower humidity Sunday, Monday

-

(Precipitation at 7 a.m. CDT)

A welcome reprieve from the recent heat and humidity will be in place to end the weekend and start the work week. The reprieve will be short however as increasing temperatures and humidity will return as early as Tuesday with temperatures possibly reaching the mid 90s by Friday. The increased heat and humidity by mid-week will provide the potential for scattered thunderstorm activity during the afternoon and evening hours beginning Tuesday and continuing through the week. As we approach the conclusion of the first half of July, temperatures are on a potentially record breaking pace. The long range forecasts call for temperatures to remain well above normal as we head toward the conclusion of July.

Long range precipitation forecasts suggest rainfall will be near normal for the remainder of July.
