ANDY COPE RUNS THE KING WILLIAM PUB AND TWO BEACH BREWING COMPANY

-

‘Teignmouth’s Back Beach (River Beach) has a whole different feel about it. There’s always something going on; someone fixing nets or fiddling with boats. There’s a lot to do in Teignmouth – The Pavilions is a new project,

there’s a fantastic kids’ play park and skate park. In summer the water feature is a top draw, then you’ve got crazy golf and tennis.

I race in the bay every Wednesday on a 42ft Oyster, then have a few drinks at the yacht club. The club has the pennant from the Teignmouth Electron; it’s a really amazing piece of history.

On my RIB, I can get to Dartmouth in 40 minutes.

In a yacht you can do it in three-and-a-half hours. You can generally find an anchorage or a buoy on any of the coves around here. In the other direction, we head to Budleigh Salterton. We’ve even sailed to Weymouth in eight hours.’
