Bristol show to launch as NEC boasts record numbers

-

THE ORGANISER OF Bristol’s Balloon Fiesta is launching a caravan and motorhome show to run alongside the event next August, because of what it sees as an obvious crossover between the two events.

Organiser Carnah plans to run its Bristol Motorhome & Caravan Show from 9 to 12 August next year at Ashton Court. The Fiesta has become Europe’s largest annual meeting, with more than 130 hot air balloons.

Event director Richard Milbourn said, “The Fiesta attracts huge numbers of campers at sites surrounding Ashton Court. This year, sites within the grounds will ensure even more enthusiasts can enjoy the spectacle.”

The announcement comes just weeks after October’s Motorhome and Caravan Show recorded its highest attendance figure ever, with 101,853 people at the NEC between 17 and 22 October. Although some exhibitors told Practical Caravan footfall had been slower this year, others were more upbeat. Isabella used the show to launch its new Ventura Air range of inflatable awnings. Director Steve Biggs said: “It’s been great. Sales are up on all products.” Coachman marketing manager Jackie Shipley said its sales had exceeded expectations.
