Caravan theft foiled

A man is due to appear in court in York later this month, charged with stealing a caravan and other offences after North Yorkshire Police used a stinger device to stop a car and caravan.

The police used the device to burst the car and van tyres at Gateforth, having pursued the driver for miles after he failed to stop on the A63. The 19-year-old from Barnsley is also charged with driving without insurance and assaulting a police officer.
