The idea of a pop-top caravan is not unknown in the UK, but Hymer brought something a little different to the show: a modern, lightweight tourer with a campervan-style rear-hinged roof as an optional extra. Priced at £3460 (on top of the £17,030 list price), it turns the threeberth van into a five-berth by adding a couple of kids’ beds in the roof. The interior takes its cues from the classic Eriba Touring, but with more space and MTPLMS starting from 1300kg. The show van was clearly aimed at family buyers, with a bike rack on the long A-frame and a payload of up to 510kg. AC
