The increasing dominance of fixed beds has probably been the biggest single development in caravan layouts in recent decades. This layout, with a washroom spread across the centre of the van that you can often partition off, is even more popular in motorhomes. But there remains the question of whether having fixed beds, particularly beds that are placed lengthwise, uses up too much space and so leaves you with everything else in the van being squashed.
Pros
Having single beds means each partner can access the rest of the van more easily
Cons
You can often find the front lounge in particular is squeezed A The storage areas under the beds often have external access B You get a separate shower and a dressing area in the middle C Make sure the midships kitchen is of a good size D Lounge sofas may not be long enough for single beds
