WARTIME WEEKENDS IN OUR CARAVAN

I found this old photo at my 92-year-old mum’s house, and thought it might be of interest. My grandmother bought this caravan new during WWII and kept it at Box Hill, in Surrey. She worked dozens of hours a week making munitions. She kept another caravan at Goodrington, in Devon. The family used to spend every weekend there, then catch the 7am train on Monday back to London for work. Back row from left to right shows grandma, my aunt and my mum, who was 15 at the time.
