The Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS) announced the winners of its latest Workshop of the Year awards at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome show at the

NEC in February.

It’s congratulations to Lee Fitzgerald from Tourer Techs and Jamie Bell of JB Caravan and Trailer Services, who won the Fixed Workshop and Mobile Workshop awards, respectively, and a prize of £500 each from the awards sponsor, Engineer Insurance & Aftercare.

This is the third year that AWS has run the awards, which are held to recognise the efforts of people and businesses taking part in the scheme.

Fixed Workshop award winner Lee is the managing director at Tourer Techs, which is based at East Brent in Somerset. He said: “It’s an honour to receive this award, which is for all the team, and it’s good to make people aware of what we do and what the AWS is.”

The AWS is a joint enterprise between the NCC, the Caravan and Motorhome Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club. It is supported by the major manufacturers and is the UK’S largest group of independently assessed workshops for leisure vehicle servicing.

Highlighting excellence

AWS Manager Reece Wigmore said: “We hold the awards to highlight the work of our 570 excellent fixed and mobile workshops. The winners are exceptional and show the excellent work members do.”

Mobile Workshop award winner Jamie Bell works with his wife, Jane. They run JB Caravan and Trailer Services (covering the West Midlands) together, providing servicing and repairs for caravans and motorhomes, including habitation, and mobile trailers. Jamie said: “We are really proud of what we do and of winning the award.”
