Plenty of super shows promised in 2017
We’ve got your weekends planned for the foreseeable future.
Another few weeks and the 2017 classic season will be upon us with a vengeance, so you’d better get out your planner to make sure you fit in as much as possible. Beaulieu is set to offer one great event after another, starting with its Simply Ford day on April 30, Simply VW on June 17 and Simply Jaguar on June 25 among many others. The highlights for us, though, will be the Spring and Autumn Autojumbles on May 13-14 and September 2-3 respectively. More at beaulieu.co.uk.
Brooklands Museum (brooklandsmuseum.com) is set to have another busy year with its usual raft of fixtures including those for Austinmorris (March 12), Mini (March 19) and MG (April 2). There will also be a Drive It Day gathering on April 23; for more options on what to do keep an eye on the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs website (fbhvc.co.uk).
As you’d expect there’s plenty happening at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon (britishmotormuseum.co.uk) throughout 2017. If you want to brush up on your photographic or sketching skills there are workshops running throughout the year; car events include the Festival of Transport (May 28), BMC & Leyland Show (July 2) and Old Ford Rally (July 16).
Three huge event organisers are Mark Woodward (markwoodwardclassicevents.com), Andrew Greenwood (classicshows.org) and Gemini Events (classicmotorshows.co.uk), all of whom have released their 2017 calendars.
Another event that you really need to get to is of
course the Practical Classics Restoration Show at the NEC, which runs for three days for the first time (March 31-April 2). Don’t miss the Silverstone Classic (July 28-30), the Goodwood Revival (September 8-10) or the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC (November 10-12).
