Ever washed a Morris Marina?

-

Didn’t wash mine this weekend but did take it for a spin with a couple of mates in their saloons yesterday.

I had a couple as company cars back in the Seventies the last one was an estate in that lurid blue. Within nine months both sills were rusted through.

I had an 1100 van gifted to me in 1984. The original

Flintstones car – no floors! Although it did take two blokes, camping and diving equipment, plus a fully inflated 14ft Zodiac on the roof rack from Gravesend, Kent to Brixham, Devon and back.

My first car was actually a Bordeaux Red one here in Holland. A smart colour for the coupé. I bought it for just 350 dutch guilders and drove it for two years!

Leon Hart

I’ve had two Marina coupés, both in the early Nineties. One rotted away and the other I left the wrong way up in a field. I’m still not quite sure how. I let the farmer know where it was but he didn’t look surprised and asked if I reached the river. When I told him I hadn’t he was more surprised and said: ‘They usually wind up just there in the river!’

Chris Gidden

I had a Marina 1.8 coupé in Damask Red but have no pictures of it being washed – unlike this one. It is from 1985 and my daughter is helping me clean my Triumph Dolomite Sprint.
