‘It's so PC: mint ones sell for less than £4k’

1990 Toyota Sera Lee Wilkinson, Norfolk

-

This project is the second Sera I’ve bought after falling in love with them quite recently. I bought my first last April, from someone in the far West of Scotland. Stripping down revealed that 90% of that car was absolutely fine, but previous crash damage repair had been bodged many years earlier and the front panel around the chassis rails was shot. The cost of the repair would have been astronomical, so I decided to source another project. So, the car you see here is being built from the best bits of both. It’s a 1990 Sera and, despite the amazing looks and performance, it cost very little. Mint examples sell for less than £3000-4000, but mine set me back £500.

They’re in the Practical Classics area!

?? ?? Gull wings for £500 – that's just amazing. Thanks to a full mechanical overhaul, Rosie is now tip-top. Klaus reckons his £2400 230 CE was a very smart buy.
