Making bespoke arch panels

-

1 Measure twice…

The old GRP cover being checked for fit (poor) and marked accordingly.

4 Feeling your way

It’s a knees up! Recreating the gentle curvature required a little bit of brute strength.

2 Transferring the outline

Old cover clamped to the aluminium sheet and its outline traced.

5 Careful work pays dividends

Clamped together, then drilled and riveted, one hole at a time to retain integrity of the curvature.

3 Not at all puzzling

A jigsaw makes light work of cutting the aluminium and leaves little mess, too.

6 Nicely done

Once painted and coated in special underseal, the panels will ‘disappear’.
