WHAT’S IT LIKE TO DRIVE

I have never driven a Mini. There. I’ve said it. Hard to believe, I know. Despite years of mucking about with classics, I haven’t had the chance to sample any of this ‘wizardry on wheels.’ First up, I managed to get into the driving seat so that was a good start. Tobias is taller still, so watching him fold himself into the car was a source of great amusement. We hit the roads around his village in deepest Somerset, where the narrow lanes and tight bends were the perfect environment for Mini thrills. This one was, as expected, enormous fun. All that guff about dodgems and gokarts: All so true. So much so, I feel like I should try owning one at least once in my life. Maybe we all should. If you find one as good as Tobias’ car, take the plunge immediately. You won’t regret it.
