Counsel recently. It was about the origins of the Austin A90 Atlantic. Says Barney: ‘In 1946 the Italian styling house Pinin Farina displayed a prototype based on the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500. Leonard Lord heard about the car, purchased it and stored it at Longbridge where many of its styling cues were borrowed for the Atlantic prototype. The production car was watered down but you can the influence. The car is now in the US where it has undergone a $2m restoration.’
