You will need

Trolley jack, axle stands, oil drainer, AF spanners, long steel bar or lever, test lamp or multimeter, grease gun, oil pan.

Fuel and exhaust

Make sure the fuel tank and pipework are in good order. The electric SU fuel pump is mounted at the rear. Also check the exhaust system for leaks, corrosion and insecurity.

Tyres

Check for damage and wear. Investigate uneven wear. Recommended tyre pressures: 26psi (crossplies); 30psi (radials).

Starting handle

A starting handle comes as standard. It’s handy for rotating the engine when setting the valve clearances and ignition timing.
