1937 Austin Heavy 12/4 Taxi

This selection of Tom’s previous cars might seem modern and sophisticated to many of our older readers, but bear in mind that he was only seven when his 1998 Audi cabriolet was built - ‘I should never have sold that one’, he says – and you’ll see that quite recent cars take on a different status. His Heavy 12/4 is now a keeper.

Golf GT TDI & Audi TT

Also offering a lot of fun per pound, Tom’s old VW Golf MKIV GT TDI has now become a cult model in a quiet way. And much less subtle but already with modern classic status, the 2003 Audi TT that Tom enjoyed until recently was another one on his Vag-built bucket list.
