Robust chassis

-

An advantage that a threewheeler shares with a threelegged stool is the ability to sit unstressed on uneven ground. This characteristic is retained when driving straight, but the single front wheel imposes a strong twisting action when cornering hard. The tubular ‘pipe ladder’ chassis of the first prototype was rejected in favour of a channel and box-section frame with cruciform bracing, the better to resist flexing.
