Provenance
The concept sprang from a Ford V8powered two-seat special conceived by racing car designer Frank Kurtis in 1941 for millionaire racing driver, engineer and playboy Joel W Thorne. Named ‘The Californian’, this strange car was enjoyed extensively by Thorne before acquisition and redevelopment by Gary Davis.
