Identify high spots

Let the filler dry. Apply a guide coat and sand the skim coat back using 80-grit abrasive on a block. Don’t worry if you go through to bare metal. Tap high areas down gently with a hammer. Sand swage lines after sanding flat areas to achieve the correct profile.
