CHRIS’S SHED REGULARS
1 Chevrolet Corvette C3
It would have been rude not to include at least the nose of the first Chris Gaunt restoration – Ian Ball’s car – in this group shot. PC writer Nigel Boothman got in on the act, too, far right with Delage.
2 Vauxhall Calibra
The daily transport for Corvette owner Don Banham is a well-preserved sporting Vauxhall. Chris will address various issues and return it to topnotch status when the ’vette is finished.
3 Chrysler New Yorker
Brian Palmer’s immense 1973 New Yorker (it just goes on and on) is in superb original condition and they’re both regular attendees at Chris’s garage – the car for light service work, Brian for the coffee!
4 Ford Mustang
This 1965 Mustang ‘notchback’ is a daily driver for Chris’s stepson, Macaulay. ‘I serviced it, put a new radiator and heater matrix in it and away it goes,’ says Chris. Cosmetic improvements may be in store later…
5 Delage
Chris’s neighbour Ken Guest is a man of taste, having not only this 1925 Delage (serviced by Chris) but also a 1956 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider. Variety is one thing Chris’s daily workload seems to have in spades.
