HUMDRUM RARITIES
I’m struck by the way some cars that were once commonplace have been allowed to become extinct without ever really having become classics. My shortlist would include, for example: Ford Zephyr MKIV, Peugeot 504 estate, Renault 6 and 14, Opel Ascona. In their day, none of these was so rare as to need a second look, but they don’t seem to be around on the classic scene today. I wondered if you might try to find somebody who has a well-preserved example of any of these, or ask other readers what would be on their lists? Jon Dwyer, Buckingham
