Solenoid not working?

Disconnect the primary wire from the starter solenoid (terminal 50). Connect the voltmeter to it and earth, then operate the starter. It should read battery voltage. If it does, suspect the solenoid. If it doesn’t, suspect a dodgy switch, immobiliser or wire.
