The life story of the retro-look S-type

1998 Jaguar launches the S-type with 3.0-litre V6 or 4.0-litre V8 petrol engines. 2000 Electronic stability proghram (ESP) is now standard on all models. 2002 The 2.5-litre V6 petrol engine arrives and 4.2 V8 supersedes the 4.0-litre unit, supercharged in the S-type R. 2003 Sport 200 limited edition arrives, with extra equipment and Type R bumpers. Electronic parking brake now standard on all cars. 2004 Reprofiled rear end and refreshed nose, better interior trim and revised instrumentation. 2.7-litre V6 TD added. 2007 A facelift brings a restyled nose and extra standard equipment.
