Classic clubs out in force

Manchester Classic Car Show 2017

-

Andy Rouse used to be the man behind November’s Classic Motor Show at the NEC and he now puts on the Footman James Manchester Classic Car Show (September 16-17) – so it’s no surprise that the event is like a warm up for Birmingham’s huge extravaganza.

Says Andy: ‘Clubs are at the heart of the Manchester show, and this year we’ve had the most amazing support from them – by the end of June we’d already signed up 95 of them and run out of space.

‘Clubs are the heartbeat of this hobby, and we are honoured that so many are choosing to join us at this great showcase for the classic car community. The show is fast gaining a reputation for great cars in a great venue and a very friendly atmosphere.’

The Manchester weekend features almost 1000 classics and incorporates many of the elements of November’s NEC show. So alongside club displays, the Sporting Bears will be selling rides in classic and high-performance cars. You can also expect hands-on restoration demonstrations, an autojumble and classic rally action on a stage set up for the event.

Andy adds: ‘The cars on display will be diverse – expect rarities, supercars and plenty of mainstream classics of the sort that feature in every issue of Practical Classics. We’re very excited to have one particular car this year – the unique TVR ‘White Elephant’ prototype built as Peter Wheeler’s personal transport.’

The show takes place in Eventcity, next to the Trafford Centre and makes an ideal weekend for the whole family, so log on to manchesterclassic carshow.com to buy your tickets.
