PC’S Matt George on how he enhanced his own car

-

1. Suspension upgrades

I fitted Koni dampers all round to my Triumph some years ago and have not looked back since. Adjustable for both bump and rebound, they have allowed me to perfect the 2000’s suspension setup with fast road work and long-distance touring in mind. Yes, they were more expensive than standard dampers… but the difference in perfomance is impressive. One of the best modifications I have made so far.

2. Uprated driveshafts

Irs-equipped Triumphs are known for the infamous ‘Triumph Twitch’ that occurs when the splines on the driveshafts wear, then ‘lock up’ when you are putting the power down. I addressed this with a set of new GKN Rilsan-coated driveshafts and, wow, what a difference! No more clonking when taking up drive and no more twitching when changing up.
