Farewell old friend
Bodywork specialist John Griffiths did a beautiful job in restoring the panels of my DS this year. With patience, he took me through each stage of the painting process, teaching me about numerous techniques as he went. I was enthralled, intrigued and bewildered all at once. With his decades of experience, he made this notoriously challenging side of car restoration look effortless.
John died last month after a short illness. His good humour and warmth – not to mention extraordinary professional expertise and craftsmanship – will be missed by his family and wealth of friends. With every admiring glance my DS gets, John’s smile will be forever beaming back in the Citroën’s gleaming paintwork.
