Valve clearances

Remove the rocker cover. Renew the gasket if it’s imperfect. Set the valve clearances using the ‘rule of nine’ – set valve 1 with 8 fully open, 2 with 7, etc. Inlet and exhaust clearances (cold): 1.3 standard – 0.014in (0.38mm); 1.3 HLE – 0.013in (0.35mm).
