Two great events fall on the same weekend

-

Club updates plus where we’ve been and where you need to go.

There are still a few really good events to fit in before you tuck up your classic for the winter. Two of the best outdoor jollies to come are both called the Autumn Classic and both take place over the same weekend of October 6-7. One is held at Castle Combe on the Saturday while the other is at Prescott Hillclimb near Cheltenham and it’s on for the whole weekend.

Both fixtures have a big dynamic element to them; at Prescott you’ll be able to see hot rods and muscle cars plus the odd iconic racer taking to the hill, while the weekend will also include races devoted to TVRS, Bugattis, Triumph TRS plus a varied assortment of British sports cars. The Demon Drone Wall of Death will be there all weekend along with an array of bands providing live music. The weekend has an American theme, but there’s more variety than that suggests - well worth the trip at £20 per head on the day (under14s free). Find out more at

prescott-hillclimb.com.

The Castle Combe Autumn Classic event promises plenty of close-fought racing with a mouthwatering selection of cars. The GT40’S victory in the 1968 Le Mans 24 Hours will be celebrated and there will be races devoted to pre-1966 Jaguars, Austin-healeys and historic Aston Martins. It’s the pre-1966 Touring Cars that we can’t wait to see in action though, along with the GT & Sports Cars grid. Expect loads of club support and your entry ticket gives you unrestricted access to the paddock and pits (as it does at Prescott). See
