NEW MINI REGISTER

The MINI Y Register, for all modern MINIS built in 2001, was started over two years ago and has gone from strength to strength. Now there is an 02 S Register for all MINI Cooper S (R53) models built in 2002, the first year of MINI Cooper S production.

AUSTIN 7 FOR LOAN PROJECT

A 1934 Austin Seven saloon has been offered by the Pre War Austin Seven Club to the classic Car Loan Project, designed to encourage new enthusiast­s into the classic vehicle movement. The PWA7C has sourced the 1934 saloon with the clear intention of giving an extended driving opportunit­y to a newcomer. The car has been prepared and will be available in early 2019 for the remainder of the year. It will also be on show at the NEC Classic Motor Show. BANGER RACING GAME LAUNCHED

A new computer game that puts players in the driver’s seat at a banger race has caused concern among some fans. Wreckfest puts a variety of classics around the virtual oval. Upgrading and tuning means it’s not all destructio­n - but some still think it is in poor taste.

BEETLE BOWS OUT

As we went to press, VAG announced that it will stop making the Beetle in 2019. Online sales portal ebay has reported brisk sales of Beetles since the news. US boss, Heinrich Woebcken, revealed the end with a heavy heart but didn’t rule out a resurrecti­on one day.
