Yet more tales of classics gently returning to nature on our

Rotten Row.

Enfield 8000

Here is a scoop from Christopher Wilson, it’s the very first time an Enfield 8000 has featured in the Rust in Peace pages! Just 120 of these batterypowered cars were made during the Seventies, it’s unlikely the Enfield would worry Elon Musk.

Daimler Conquest

Fred Hillier was unsure what he had found on a farm in Glastonbury, but it appears to be the remains of a Fifties Daimler Conquest, albeit partly dismantled.

Yak Yeoman

Shaun Linegar remembers seeing this Yak Yeoman in 1980 when it was brand new and driving around Liphook in Hampshire. They were made from 1979 to 1984 by Manchester Garages Ltd and had 1.3-litre Ford engines. This one has been off the road for more than 10 years, parked up near the local pub.

Spitfire

This MKIII Spitfire with super-rare Ashley or Sebring hardtop, sent in by Wayne Mcshane, is in Guildford, Surrey and has not moved since 1985. It’s up for grabs. Contact the magazine if you are interested.

Citroën 2CV Charleston

Lawrie Nash from Staffordshire spotted a brace of 2CVS while out walking in the Peak District.

James says…

‘A diverse selection this month, from Enfield to Jag! And an extremely rare Spitfire with that fastback hardtop. Nice.’

Jaguar Mk2

Julian Smith found this welldisguised Jaguar Mk2 that has been slowly crumbling away for years behind an antiques centre in Chipping Norton. It was way beyond recovery 20 years ago when he first noticed it!

Twenties cars in the USA

A row of Twenties cars found in an orchard at Keremeos, in the Similkameen Valley area of British Columbia, Canada. Discovered by Allan Lawrence from Coquitlam, BC while on a road trip in his 1977 MGB.

Aston Martin Lagonda

This Aston Martin Lagonda has been slowly dying in the Channel Islands, and Martyn Bougourd reckons that it hasn’t moved in more than 15 years. Let’s hope it is revived soon.

Rover SD1 2600

Christopher Wilson also found a complete SD1 nestling on the same farm as the Enfield Electric in mid-wales. Looks in reasonable fettle.

Vauxhall Viva HC

A Vauxhall Viva HC lies on an abandoned only five miles from the centre of Helsinki, Finland, spotted by Eero Hiltunen. The windows have been put through, but the body is still in good shape.
