The Maserati brothers unveiled the badge in 1920: today, we choose our favourite cars that wear it

-

The PC team chooses its favourite Maseratis. If only they had the cash!

The God Neptune represents strength and vigour, so when the Maserati brothers’ family friend Marquis Diego de Sterlich suggested the trident as an emblem, the boys said yes. One hundred years on, we have gathered our favourites and come up with an intoxicating group. There’s no test quite as potent as ‘old versus young’. Strength and vigour divided into two groups… the older more expensive traditional classic Maseratis and their younger, cheaper brethren. Ask yourself, which would you have? The classic Sixties and Seventies cars, all of which command a high price: gorgeous and exclusive? Or maybe you would head for the bargain car lot and a square jawed Quattroporte or the flowing lines of the 3200GT? Or what about the humble Biturbo? Would you believe it is 40 years-old in 2021? Yes, that’s 40! Six cars, six choices… six opportunities to go on ebay.
