Works for me – I was there!

-

I was reading the December issue when I came across the item about the ex-works Triumph 2.5PI being found. Well as you know it was prepared for the 1970 World Cup Rally from London to Mexico. The start was from the old Wembley Stadium. At the time I was working for the Department of Trade and Industry (Civil Aviation) near Heathrow. As my days off coincided with the event scrutineering, I went up to Wembley to see the cars and was present when the BLMC team was having pictures taken. I enclose one that I took of the one in the article.

I also note that Nigel Clark has acquired a BMW Z3. He will enjoy it: we have had a 1.9 for 16 or 17 years and it has been great fun.

It still has less than 60,000 miles on it and has been to Shetland, France, Belgium and part of the Wild Atlantic Way in the Republic of Ireland.

I was very interested in your VW camper project, particularly as I was myself diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer earlier this year. I’ll be out to say hello if your project will be passing the south coast of Scotland.
