‘Both cars have been pampered!’

1978 Marina LE, 1983 Ital SLX 1.7 Richard Clayton, Leamington

The Oporto Red Ital is a little old lady car and it is all original. It led a pampered life, was trailered to the workshop when it was serviced, and only has 21,000 miles on the clock. A real timewarp but definitely an ongoing project. The LE was found just outside Oxford. A family had owned it from new, three of them, and I am the fourth owner. It was bought as a project car because my son wanted an LE like grandad had. My son ran it for a while and then we took it down to the Isle of Wight where Marina expert, Frank Philips, did the bodywork and paint – a proper ground-up resto.
