Back in 2010-11, I owned two MKII GTIS in quick succession, both eight-valve versions. I loved them and have many happy memories of driving them… only some of which I could share in print. Perky beasts that were as capable on twisting B-roads as they were in the outside lane of the motorway. Owning another is on my bucket list.
