Don’t tell the braid
QI’m thinking of buying braided brake hoses for my MGB. What are the benefits?

ARubber hoses have a bit of ‘give’ under pressure. A braided hose is a PTFE tube in a straight jacket of woven stainless steel, so there’s no give at all. Rubber hoses deteriorate, sometimes by slowly closing up inside or by external cracking. Braided hoses don’t – but constant chafing of the braid against the core can lead to failure.
