Twin Busch

German engineering for your workshop

-

Twin Busch is a German-based company with a world-wide reach that has a core business based around car lifts and tyre servicing – it is a workshop kit company with a growing reputation in the UK. Parking at its specious offices and distribution warehouse in Kettering, we are greeted by Edward Lloyd and Grant Cooper – Twin Busch’s ‘Team UK’. They are your points of contact and, as we quickly discover, they are car nuts, just like us. For a professional workshop equipment supplier, this is something of a pleasant surprise. Edward has spent decades building hot rods for high end customers: ‘It’s the ultimate combination of art and automotive endeavour,’ he tells us.

The question is, how does a man steeped in the bespoke creation of old school ‘rods’ fit into the 21st century precision of a top quality supplier like TB?

‘It’s simple,’ he smiles. ‘Having the best quality kit in your workshop makes building cars easier.’ We look through the range. Along with one, two and four-post lifts, scissor lifts and even under-floor post lifts, Twin Busch also supplies compressors, tool cabinets, wheel balancers and tyre changers as well. In fact, for big stuff, there is very little it doesn’t do.

Grant Cooper shows me around the large warehouse in Kettering where the Twin Busch products are on display and can be seen working. His classic focus is firmly modern:

‘My dream classic of recent years would be the Peugeot 306 GTI-6. Although I couldn’t afford to insure it just yet. My TDI Turbo was fast enough though… a great car.’

The product development is based in Bensheim, Germany and design, testing and component choice for Twin Busch products is, as you would expect, a painstaking process – and accordingly, the finished products are impressive. ‘It’s a family owned business,’ says Edward, ‘And I got involved after I built a car for one of the owners. I was using TB products of course and he liked the way I worked, so offered me the opportunity to head up the UK operation. They are a great company – and the company is owned by people who love cars. In fact, the Busch family have their own car collection and museum near Frankfurt.’ So, despite the German precision and cleanliness, the whole set up is powered by petrolheads. We approve of this. Visit the website and pop down to Kettering for a look-see.
