Raspberry Bespoke Events was created by Jennifer Holden after over 15 years working in a corporate environment organising high level events. Constantly enjoying working with brides as a hobby, Jennifer decided to embark on her own adventure and realise her dream of helping clients make their dreams come true and thus Raspberry Bespoke Events was born!

Raspberry Bespoke Events will take all the pressure and strains away ensuring you can concentrate on your time together as a couple, enjoying every step towards the biggest day of your lives. What prompted you to set up Raspberry Bespoke Events? Having spent over 15 years in a corporate events planning environment, I wanted more autonomy over the events I was producing. I love meeting with couples and getting to know their hopes and dreams and making them a reality, and so Raspberry Bespoke Events was born. Why “Raspberry”? When asked to think about a name that best represented myself, I simply said Raspberry! After a few quizzical looks I explained my thoughts. A raspberry is fresh, full of fun and adds a splash of colour to any occasion. I just knew this represented my outlook on life. You previously worked in a FTSE 100 listed company - how does doing what you do now compare to your previous career? It’s amazing! I have learnt some valuable skills and met some great people in my previous career. But nothing can compare to being involved in the entire process from enquiry to event.
What’s the most important thing to take into account when planning a wedding? It’s about really getting to know your couple, the sooner you can build a relationship the quicker decisions can be made. To create an exclusive day that’ll be remembered for years to come, it has to be unique and reflect your couple. How far in advance do you recommend planning an event and are there any special things to take into consideration? We would ask our couples to consider the size of the event, location and honeymoon. If the venue your heart desires isn’t available, or your honeymoon location has a monsoon season, these factors can pre-determine your wedding date. My advice would be to decide what is most important and use this as a basis to work from. Have you noticed any particular differences between straight weddings and gay weddings/ civil partnerships?
Not at all. All weddings/civil partnerships are about two people who love each other and are joining together in front of loved ones and family.
What other kinds of events do you organise? We organise many events from corporate meetings, away days, special birthday celebrations, charity events, engagements and proposals, the list is endless! Raspberry is about bringing people together whatever the occasion. What is the strangest or most memorable event you have ever organised? I have organised many fabulous events but one that was most memorable was a Star Wars themed 40th birthday in London. The challenge was all in the detail, introducing an old school movie into a five star environment. It was quirky, fun and loved by all the guests. The brief was to hold a luxury event but keep it informal and fun. All details were befitting, right down to the bespoke invitations. It was challenging but seeing the event come together was definitely a highlight!
