MEASUREMENTS

To fit bust 81-86(92-97:102-107:112-117: 122-127)cm. Finished measurements: Bust 104(113:127:140:153)cm; Length to shoulder 62(64:66:68:70)cm; Sleeve length 42(43:44:44:44)cm.

MATERIALS 6(7:7:8:9) 25g balls of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in Ghost 642.

Pair of 2.75mm knitting needles.

TENSION

27 sts and 42 rows over st-st and 27 sts and 46 rows over lace patt, both to 10cm square using 2.75mm needles.

BACK

With 2.75mm needles, cast on 141(153:171:189:207) sts loosely. Moss st

row K1, [p1, k1] to end. Rep this row 4 more times. Now work in lace patt as follows: 1st row (WS) P to end. 2nd row

K1, k2tog, yf, k3, [yf, sk2togpo, yf, k3] to last 3 sts, yf, skpo, k1. 3rd row P to end.

4th row K3, [yf, sk2togpo, yf, k3] to end. These 4 rows form the lace patt and are repeated. Work in lace patt until back measures 59(61:63:65:67)cm ending with a WS row. Shape shoulders Keeping patt correct, cast off 5(5:6:7:8) ss at beg of next 10(4:4:2:2) rows, then 0(6:7:8:9) sts at beg of foll 0(6:6:8:8) rows. 91(97:105:111:119) sts.

Shape back neck Next row (RS) Cast off 5(6:7:8:9) sts, patt until there are 13(15:17:19:21) sts on right hand needle, turn and cont on these sts only, leave rem sts on a spare needle. Keeping patt correct, dec 1 st at neck edge of next 3 rows, ending with a WS row, at the same time, cast off 5(6:7:8:9) sts at beg of the 2nd row. Cast off rem 5(6:7:8:9) sts. With RS facing, slip centre 55(55:57:57:59) sts onto a holder, rejoin yarn to rem sts and patt to end. Complete to match first side, reversing shapings.

FRONT Work in lace pattern as for Back until front measures 22cm, ending with a WS row. Beg with a k row, work in st-st until front measures 40(41:42:43:44)cm, ending with a WS row. Beg with a 2nd row, work in lace patt as given for Back as follows: cont straight until 0(0:4:4:8) rows fewer have been worked than on Back to beg of shoulder shaping, ending with a WS row. 1st and 2nd sizes only

Shape shoulder and front neck

Next row (RS) Cast off 5(5:–:–:–) sts, patt until there are 43(49:–:–:–) sts on right hand needle, turn and cont on these sts only, leave rem sts on a spare needle. Keeping patt correct, cast off 5(5:–:–:–) sts at beg of 2nd and foll 5(0:–:–:–) RS rows, then 0(6:–:–:–) sts at beg of foll 0(5:–:–:–) RS rows, at the same

time, dec 1 st at neck edge of next 6 rows, then on foll 2 RS rows. 5(6:–:–:–) sts.

3rd, 4th and 5th sizes only

Shape shoulder and front neck

Next row (RS) Patt –(–:63:72:81) sts, turn and cont on these sts only, leave rem sts on a spare needle. Keeping patt correct, dec 1 st at neck edge of next –(–:3:3:6) rows. –(–:60:69:75) sts. Work –(–:0:0:1) row, so ending with a WS row. Shape shoulder Keeping patt correct, cast off –(–:6:7:8) sts at beg of next row and foll –(–:1:0:0) RS row, then –(–:7:8:9) sts at beg of foll –(–:5:6:6) RS rows, at

the same time, dec 1 st at neck edge of next –(–:3:3:1) rows, then on foll –(–:2:2:1) RS rows, then on –(–:1:1:2) foll 4th rows. –(–:7:8:9) sts.

All sizes

Work 1 row, so ending with a WS row. Cast off rem 5(6:7:8:9) sts. With RS facing, slip 45 sts at centre front onto a holder, rejoin yarn to rem sts and patt to end. Complete to match first side, reversing shapings.

SLEEVES

With 2.75mm needles, cast on 53(55:57:57:59) sts loosely. Work 5 rows in moss st. Beg with a p row, work in st-st throughout as follows: Work 7 rows. Inc 1 st at each end of 8th(8th:8th:6th:6th) row and every foll 8th(8th:8th:6th:6th) row until there are 71(79:97:81:91) sts, then on every foll 10th(10th:0:8th:8th) row until there are 87(91:97:103:107) sts. Cont straight until sleeve measures 42(43:44:44:44)cm, ending with a WS row. Cast off loosely.

NECKBAND

Join right shoulder seam. With RS facing and 2.75mm needles, pick up and k12(12:15:15:18) sts down left front neck, k across 45 sts at centre front, pick up and k12(12:15:15:18) sts up right front neck, 3 sts down right back neck, k across 55(55:57:57:59) sts on back neck holder and dec 1 st in centre, then pick and k3 sts up left back neck. 129(129:137:137:145) sts. Work 4 rows in moss st. Cast off loosely in moss st.

TO MAKE UP

Join left shoulder and neckband seam. Place markers 17(18:19:20:21)cm down from shoulder on side edges of front and back.

With centre of cast off edge of sleeve to shoulder, sew on sleeves between markers. Join side and sleeve seams.
