Christmas Day GLAM&GO
STEP 1 I started by blending a small amount of BB cream into Michèle’s skin to even out colour, and then a little concealer over one or two areas that needed a bit more cover.
STEP 5 I applied mascara and lightly filled in Michèle’s brows. I then used a brush to sweep some powder blusher in a youthful pinky shade along the cheekbones.
STEP 6 Michèle’s lips are the focal point, so I used a Charlotte Tilbury nude eye
pencil (always good to find a dual purpose) to trace very lightly just above her lip line around the Cupid’s bow. This highlighting trick is less fuss than lipliner, and lips appear plumper and fuller.
STEP 2 Many women are afraid of powder as they get older, as it has a reputation for settling into fine lines and wrinkles. But if you avoid around the eyes, a fine dusting of blotting or translucent powder after foundation can eliminate shine and help your make-up last.
STEP 3 To make Michèle’s gorgeous eyes appear wider and more awake, I used
Benefit Eye Bright
pencil – a soft mauvey colour – around the inner corners, patting to blend, followed by a lighter eyeshadow on the inner half of her eyelids.
STEP 7 I then applied a gorgeous, suitseveryone classic red lipstick using a lip brush, as this is much more precise than simply using the bullet. For extra staying power, blot lips with a tissue and apply a second coat.
STEP 4 After applying a warm mid-brown eyeshadow to the outer half and socket, I used Elizabeth Arden Smoky Eyes Pencil in
Espresso along the upper lash line and a little way underneath her eye. This powdery pencil has amazing staying power.
STEP 8 I recommend a quick spray of
Caudalie Beauty
Elixir, which boosts radiance while helping your make-up to stay put.
