Over to you
What you’ve told us this month
Your letters
DEAR PRIMA…
As a long-time reader,
I was recently delighted to come across some old coursework I did as a mature student in 1987 – a critical review of Prima! Of course, I gave the magazine an excellent review, as I would again today. Back then it had very similar articles, including fashion, travelling, cookery, gardening and a pet section. Congratulations on continuing to produce such an interesting magazine that I still buy today! Sarah Shaw
SCRUMPTIOUS SCONES
I love baking scones, so was pleased to see your recipe (March), particularly as it had the word ‘speedy’ in the title! I remember when I was growing up, if unexpected visitors arrived, after greeting them, Mum would disappear into the kitchen, leaving the rest of us to entertain them. Within 20 minutes, she would reappear with a plate of delicious, freshly baked scones. Happy days… Joy Marshall
THE WONDER OF NATURE
How To Notice Nature… Wherever You Are (April) was a brilliant and inspiring article. It’s so true that you don’t have to live in the countryside to feel the benefits of the natural world. If only we appreciated nature the way we love money, we might just make the world a more peaceful and beautiful place. Gillian Hollands
AN IMPORTANT ISSUE
The article about Jenni Regan (April), who lost both her father and sister to alcohol, was incredibly moving. Alcoholism has affected my own family, so I know how devastating it can be. It’s not something we tend to talk about, so it was comforting to read Jenni’s story and connect with someone else who has been through it. I want to thank Jenni for sharing her journey, and Prima for publishing an important read. Melissa James
A READ TO REMEMBER
After your Books Editor Nina Pottell recommended The Foundling by Stacey Halls (March), I would like to say how much I enjoyed reading it. I visited London’s Foundling Museum last summer, which made the book doubly enjoyable. Brenda Driscoll
SPREADING HAPPINESS
Here’s a poster the children at Burscough Village Primary School kids’ club painted in response to the article Feel Better In 5 Minutes
(February). They have taken the concept to heart and can’t wait to share their news with each other. It’s a wonderful way to start each day being positive and happy. Deirdre Sadgrove, kids’ club manager
Ed’s note: I’m sending a £50 Hobbycraft voucher to say well done to the youngsters at Burscough Village Primary School.
