MEASUREMEN­TS

To fit bust 81-86(92-97:102-107)cm; Finished measuremen­ts Bust 93(103:113)cm; Length to shoulder 56(58:60)cm.

MATERIALS

8(9:10) 50g balls of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in Denim 205. Pair of 4.5mm knitting needles. 4mm and 4.5mm circular needles, 60cm long.

TENSION

19.5 sts and 30 rows to 10cm square over patt using 4.5mm needles.

NOTE

● The armhole edgings are only picked up and cast off, no other rows are worked.

BACK

** With 4.5mm needles, cast on 91(101:111) sts. 1st row (RS) K1, [p1, k1] to end.

2nd row P to end. 3rd row P1, [k1, p1] to end.

4th row P to end. These 4 rows form broken moss st and are repeated throughout. Work in patt until back measures 35(37:39)cm from cast on edge, ending with a WS row.

Shape armholes

Next row Cast off 12(14:16) sts purlwise, patt to end.

Next row Cast off 12(14:16) sts knitwise, p to end. 67(73:79) sts. ** Cont straight until back measures 54(56:58)cm, ending with a WS row.

Shape back neck

Next row Patt 22(24:26) sts, turn and cont on these sts only, leave rem sts on a spare needle. Cast off 4 sts at beg of next row and foll WS row. 14(16:18) sts.

Patt 2 rows.

Shape shoulder

Cast off in patt. With RS facing, slip 23(25:27) sts at centre back on to a holder, rejoin yarn to rem 22(24:26) sts, patt to end. P 1 row. Cast off 4 sts at beg of next row and foll RS row. 14(16:18) sts.

P 1 row.

Cast off in patt.

FRONT

Work exactly as given for Back from ** to **.

Cont straight until 12 rows fewer have been worked than on Back to shoulder shaping.

Shape neck

Next row (RS) Patt 24(26:28) sts, turn and cont on these sts only, leave rem sts on a spare needle.

Cast off 4 sts at beg (neck edge) of next row, 3 sts at beg of foll WS row, 2 sts at beg of next WS row, then 1 st at beg of foll WS row. 14(16:18) sts.

Patt 4 rows.

Shape shoulder

Cast off in patt.

With RS facing, slip 19(21:23) sts at centre front on to a holder, rejoin yarn to rem 24(26:28) sts, patt to end.

P 1 row.

Cast off 4 sts at beg (neck edge) of next row, 3 sts at beg of foll RS row, 2 sts at beg of next RS row, then 1 st at beg of foll RS row.

Patt 3 rows.

Shape shoulder

Cast off in patt.

COLLAR

Join both shoulder seams.

With RS facing, 4.5mm circular needle and beg at left shoulder, pick up and k16 sts down left front neck edge, patt across 19(21:23) sts at centre front, pick up and k16 sts up right front neck edge and 10 sts down right back neck edge, patt across 23(25:27) sts at centre back, then pick up and k10 sts up left back neck edge. 94(98:102) sts. Place a marker to show beg and end of round. Keeping patt correct throughout, work in rounds as follows (every round is a RS round)

1st round K to end.

2nd round Patt to end. Rep these 2 rounds until collar measures 4.5cm from pick up round, then change to 4mm circular needle and cont in patt for a further 2.5cm, ending with a 2nd round.

Next round Cast off purlwise.

ARMHOLE EDGINGS

With 4.5mm needles, pick up and k85 sts evenly along armhole edge between the underarm cast off rows. Cast off knitwise on WS (see Note).

TO MAKE UP

Join side seams.
