Christmas wishes
There’s nothing like nostalgia and reflection to give you a sense of comfort and grounding. In a year when there have been so many difficulties and so many worries, looking back can remind us of how we’ve come through other tough times. That’s why I love our Step Back In Time feature (page 46) and seeing how Christmas was during the 1940s, when we were in the throes of the Second World War. This year, of course, it’s different in that we’re fighting an invisible enemy, but keeping strong, saying safe and looking after loved ones is still as important. I had another poignant reminder of times gone by when I had the most fantastic trip to The Repair Shop (page 40). The people on the team are as lovely as they appear on TV, and they gave me such a special day. Fuelled by a love of crafting, I’ve made sure we also have some great ideas in our own Makes section (page 86), with Scandi-inspired decorations and cards. And talking about cards, our feature on page 49 looks at why sending Christmas greetings is actually good for you, and why this year, more than ever, sending a handwritten note to a loved one is so important. It certainly inspired me to get mine in the post early! So I hope you enjoy this Christmas issue filled with everything that makes a truly wonderful festive time, from real-life miracles (page 34) to delicious treats (page 104) and fabulous gift ideas for all the family (page 61).
