Merry & bright

A vibrant pink lip made a fresh accompaniment to Claire’s clear complexion. How to nail the perfect shape? ‘Apply lipstick and blot away the excess, before defining the edges with a matching lip liner, and then applying a second coat of colour,’ says make-up artist Anna Durston.

‘It means you can avoid over-lining to keep a bold lip looking natural.’

The lightest wash of silver eyeshadow added glamour without competing with the lips. For a lighter look, Anna skipped eyeliner but added lashings of black mascara to finish.

Golden goddess

Rachael’s bombshell curls called for a palette of browns and bronzes on the eyes. ‘Layering is important when creating a smokey eye,’ says make-up artist Jo Mckenna. ‘I smudged a deep chocolate kohl pencil along Rachael’s lashline and underneath her eyes before tapping golden glitter on to the middle of her eyelids to catch the light.’ For drama, Jo boosted Rachael’s lashes with a few eyelash clusters and finished the look with full, defined brows. A lightweight base kept her complexion fresh and glowing.

Soft shine

Coppers and rose golds brought out the blue of Sally’s eyes. ‘I used a cream shimmer formulation, building up the colour on the outer corners to make Sally’s eyes appear wider and bigger,’ says Anna. She recommends using long-wear concealer as an eyelid primer, to create long-lasting grip and cancel out any redness. On the cheeks, the lightest swish of bronzer and subtle pink blush accentuated Sally’s amazing bone structure. ‘Buff bronzer sparingly across forehead, cheeks and under the jawline to add depth,’ says Anna.

All that glitters

To give Karina’s everyday black eyeliner a party-ready update and accentuate her almond-shaped eyes, make-up artist Julie Read created a dramatic feline flick. ‘I added some sparkle to the inner corners, too, as it helps to open up the eyes and give a disco vibe,’ says Julie. Karina’s shimmery lip was achieved using a berry-red lip liner and lipstick, with a hint of gold glitter tapped in the centre of the lips using a brush. ‘You can also use a shimmer gloss on top of lipstick as an easy alternative,’ says Julie.

Pretty in pink

‘Amy has amazing brows!’ says make-up artist Jo. ‘They frame her face beautifully, so all I needed to do was groom them into place with a brow gel.’ Brushing brow hairs up and out towards the hairline creates a soft and natural look. As Amy loves pink, Jo applied a soft pink eyeshadow base and added a pretty gold-flecked pink on top. ‘Pink is a flattering colour but add definition with a dark brown or black eyeliner and mascara, to give it depth,’ says Jo. To finish, a nude pink lip gloss pulled the look together.

Stand-out glamour

Make-up artist Anna built Helen’s new look around her striking hazel eyes. ‘I used a palette of aubergine, maroon and soft pink eyeshadows to boost the gorgeous green flecks,’ says Anna. A matte liquid foundation helped to cancel out any redness in Helen’s golden complexion and keep excess shine at bay, while a dusting of shimmery bronzer along the tops of Helen’s cheekbones and around her temples sharpened her contours. Anna finished with a beige-pink matte lipstick and soft pink blusher.
