MEASUREMEN­TS

To fit bust 81-86(92-97:102-107)cm; Finished measuremen­ts Bust 96(108: 121)cm; Length to back neck 49(51:53) cm; Sleeve length 45(46:47)cm.

MATERIALS

● 13(15:16) 50g balls of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in Stone 27.

● Pair each of 4.5mm and 5mm knitting needles. ● 3 buttons.

TENSION

19 sts and 32 rows to 10cm square over moss st using 5mm needles.

BACK

With 4.5mm needles, cast on 91(103:115) sts. K 6 rows. Change to 5mm needles and work as follows:

Moss st row K1, [p1, k1] to end. This row forms moss st and is repeated. Cont in moss st until back measures 48(50:52)cm from cast on edge.

Shape shoulders

Keeping patt correct, cast off

14(16:18) sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 15(18:21) sts at beg of foll 2 rows. Cast off rem 33(35:37) sts.

POCKET LINING

With 4.5mm needles, cast on 21 sts. Work in moss st as given for Back until lining measures 10cm. Leave sts on a holder.

LEFT FRONT

With 4.5mm needles, cast on 47(53:59) sts. K 6 rows. Change to 5mm needles and work in patt as follows: ** 1st row

(RS) P1, [k1, p1] to last 4 sts, k4. 2nd row

K4, moss st to end. Rep the last 2 rows until front measures 10cm from **, ending with a WS row.

Place pocket

Next row (RS) Moss st 17(21:25), k next st tog with first st of pocket lining, slip the next 19 sts of front onto holder, moss st across 19 sts of pocket lining, k last st of lining tog with next st of front, moss st to last 4 sts, k4. Keeping 4 sts at front edge in garter st. 29(34:39) sts. Cont straight in patt until front measures 40(42:44)cm from cast on edge, ending with a WS row.

Shape front neck

Next row (RS) Patt to last 8 sts, turn and cont on rem sts, leave the 8 sts on a holder for collar. Dec 1 st at neck edge on every foll 10(11:12) rows, then cont straight until front matches Back to start of left shoulder shaping, so ending with a WS row.

Shape shoulder

Cast off 14(16:18) sts at beg of next row and rem 15(18:21) sts at beg of foll RS row. Place 3 button markers on left front edge, the 1st 1cm below front neck edge, the 2nd 8cm below and the 3rd, 8cm below the 2nd. The buttonhole­s will be worked on Right Front edge as follows: Buttonhole row (RS) K1, k2tog, yf, [k1, p1] to end.

RIGHT FRONT

With 4.5mm needles, cast on 47(53:59) sts. K 6 rows. Change to 5mm needles and work in patt as follows: 1st row

(RS) K4, p1, [k1, p1] to end. 2nd row

Moss st to last 4 sts, k4. Working buttonhole­s to match button markers on RS rows, rep the last 2 rows until front measures 40(42:44)cm from cast on edge, ending with a WS row.

Shape front neck

Next row K4, moss st next 4 sts; slip these 8 sts onto a holder, moss st to end. Keeping moss st correct, dec 1 st at neck edge on next 10(11:12) rows. 29(34:39) sts. Cont straight on rem sts until front matches Back to start of right shoulder shaping, so ending with a RS row.

Shape shoulder

Cast off 14(16:18) sts at beg of next row and rem 15(18:21) sts at beg of foll WS row.

SLEEVES

With 4.5mm needles, cast on 43(45:47) sts. K 6 rows. Change to 5mm needles and work in moss st as given for Back. Patt 7(9:11) rows. Taking all in sts into moss st, inc 1 st at each end of next row and every foll 8th row until there are 71(73:75) sts. Cont straight in moss st until sleeve measures 45(46:47)cm from cast on egde, ending with a WS row.

Shape sleeve top

Cast off 9 sts at beg of next 6 rows. Cast off rem 17(19:21) sts.

COLLAR

Join both shoulder seams. With 4.5mm needles, slip 8 sts from right front holder onto a needle, then pick up and k21(23:25) sts up right front neck to shoulder, 33(35:37) sts across centre back, 21(23:25) sts down left front neck then patt 8 sts as set from left front holder. 91(97:103) sts. 1st row

(WS) K4, moss st to last 4 sts, k4. 2nd

row Cast off 3 sts knitwise, moss st to last 4 sts, k4. 3rd row Cast off 3 sts knitwise, moss st to end. 85(91:97) sts.

Shape collar back

4th row K4, moss st 61(65:69), turn and leave rem sts unworked. 5th row

Sl 1, moss st 44(46:48), turn. 6th row Sl 1, moss st 48(50:52), turn. 7th row Sl 1, moss st 52(54:56), turn. 8th row Sl 1, moss st 56(58:60), turn. 9th row Sl 1, moss st 60(62:64), turn. 10th row Sl 1, moss st 64(66:68), turn. 11th row Sl 1, moss st, 68(70:72), turn. 12th row Moss st to last 4 sts, k4. Taking all inc sts into moss st, work as follows: 13th row K4, m1, moss st to last 4 sts, m1, k4. 87(93:99) sts. 14th, 15th, 16th rows K4, moss st to last 4 sts, k4. Rep the last 4 rows 4 times more. 95(101:107) sts. K 4 rows. Cast off knitwise.

POCKET TOP

With RS facing and 4.5mm needles, pick up and k19 sts of pocket holder. K 4 rows. Cast off knitwise. Carefully sew down row-end edges of pocket top.

TO MAKE UP

With centre of cast off edge of sleeve to shoulder seam, sew on sleeves making sure they start and end at the same point on back and fronts. Join side and sleeve seams. With WS facing, sew pocket lining in place. Sew on buttons.
