Sutton signalling works start

Network Rail has started a £45 million upgrade of signalling and track between Sutton, Wimbledon and Mitcham. From 2018, signalling will be controlled from the Route Operating Centre at Three Bridges.

The project covers 37 miles of track, five junctions and 70 signals, with more than 100 track circuits replaced. Mitcham Eastfields level crossing will also be upgraded.
