Chiltern axes its catering services

Chiltern Railways is closing its onboard catering services, on both its locomotive-hauled buffet car and its trolley services on other trains.

A statement on its website said: “Increasing numbers of customers are choosing to purchase food and drink at the shops and cafes at our stations. This has led to far fewer people purchasing on board and the service is no longer sustainable. Therefore, from May 20 2017, the service will no longer be available and customers should purchase before travelling.”
