Northern train walks created

-

A series of walks from stations in the north of England have been created by the presenter of television series Walks Around Britain and RAIL contributor Andrew White.

The project aims to showcase the variety of walks accessible to Northern passengers, and the walks range from city strolls to countryside walks with stops for locally made food and drink. Locations include Alderley Edge, Liverpool City Centre and Windermere, and walking guides will be available from June 1.

“I frequently travel by train when I’m going walking because it makes it so much easier to plan routes freely, missing out the boring bits. And, of course, you can leave the car at home,” said White.

“Many of the routes I’ve developed for Northern take you from one station to another, which means you can simply get the train home when you’ve finished.”
