Revenues rise at Bombardier

Revenues and orders at Bombardier Transporta­tion rose in the first quarter of 2017, credited to progress on major projects and major orders in France, Germany, Switzerlan­d and Malaysia.

Revenues increased from $1.88 billion (£1.46bn) in the first quarter of 2016 to $1.92bn this year, while the order intake increased from $1.2bn to $2.2bn. Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciati­on and Amortisati­on (EBITDA) - before special items - also rose by 27%, to $177m.

Executive Chairman Pierre Beaudoin will step down from his role on June 30, although he will continue to serve as non-executive chairman.
