‘37/4s’ for Summer Saturday trains in Anglia

Locomotive-hauled trains are again booked to serve Great Yarmouth this summer, with Greater Anglia extending its use of top and tail Class 37/4s and Mk 2s from weekdays to a Saturday. From May 27, the ‘37s’ will leave Norwich at 0955, 1120, 1318 and 1518, returning from the coast at 1041, 1157, 1355 and 1555. Unlike in previous years, some of the trains will run via Acle - the 1041, 1157 departures from Great Yarmouth and 1518 from Norwich will run non-stop via Acle, with the rest non-stop via Reedham as in previous years. On May 5, Direct Rail Services 37403 Isle of Mull crosses Thorpe Bridge (near Norwich) with the 1548 Lowestoft-Norwich.
