Room… with a view

I cannot agree more with Jim Reside ( Open Access, RAIL 829).

The prospect of a train seat where the only view is of hard grey plastic surfaces is most depressing, especially when in the same issue Richard Clinnick says of the GWR Class 802s: “Like most new trains the seats are firm with a high back.”

What can be done about this? Operators pay lip service to ‘customer’ feedback, but are genuine passengers really asking for uncomfortable seats with no outside view? Martyn Mullins, Newport (IoW)
